Fise Review! French and English
Fise 2009, 13 ème édition.
Je suis dans le train pour 2 h, pas grand chose à Faire donc Baam, petit récapitulatif du fameux Fise de Montpellier.
Je vais commencer par le Bmx flat bien sur.
ça commence le Jeudi avec les qualifications amateurs, et surtout la découverte de l'aire de Flat. Du bois qui a dèjà bien vieilli, un peu au milieu de nulle part, Il y'a un moment ou j'ai l'impression qu'on nous prend pour des cons.
Bref, j'y reviendras plus loin.
Pas mal d'amateur avait fait le déplacement, une trentaine, donc on a pu faire des bonnes qualifications. A noté la première place au qualif de Maxime Luccheti qui a putain de progressé avec un Spinning Hitchiker Nohand quand même. Samir Atmani a aussi bien roulé, tant bien que mal, tout en rolling sur ce spot incertain. Et Les beaux runs de Matthieu Bonnecuele et Maxandre Pillonel.
Le reste de la journée étant les practice pros et amateurs, je prend mon vélo, m'essayent en bunny whip, et Paaaf la cheville gauche qui part... ça c'est fait. Alex a plus que bien roulé tout l'après midi: le fait qu'il se soit remis à s'entrainer comme à l'époque ces derniers temps n' y est pas pour rien, et ça fait plaisir.
Le soir, Dîner avec l'équipe Red Bull qui s'enchaîne avec une bonne soirée à L'Overtown, le bar du Fise.
En sortie de soirée, grosse émeute devant la boite. un con en Mercedes s'est essayé seul face à 150 riders déchainé... Il a pris cher!
Du coup, le Vendredi matin était un peu tendu.
Finale amateur. un bon paquet de monde dans les gradins naturelles, une pure ambiance, ça fait plaisir pour nos amateurs!!
3 ème place pour Maxime Luccheti il me semble qui a aussi bien roulé que la veille. a surveiller de près le garçon! 2 ème place pour la mini-star (par sa taille) du Flat amateur qui rentre des decades et s'essayent même à Death Truck. les jambes passent vraiment tooout juste j'ai nommé Matthieu Bonecuelle! ahaha première place pour Maxandre Pillonel, on sent que le gars va aller loin, Il s'entraîne a des trucs intelligent, est à l'aise sur le vélo. il a le truc quoi. Il nous gratifie de turbine whiplash et autre steam roller full whiplash to halfpacker. Victoire justifié!!
Practice pro l'après midi:
Alex tue le spot encore une fois. Raphael Chiquet se met à Rouler lui aussi entre deux canettes d'energy drink! accompagné de Mark Webb: 360 whip, Truck, et Bunny 540... Putain il aurait du faire le Flat en pro le Mark, il aurait fait une place.
Le soir, Ré-soi Vans avec le Kang dans la place t'inquiètes. Ja vais pas trop y revenir puisque je me souviens pas de grand chose, je sais que Max Bonfil est LE pote avec qui faire une soirée, que TJ Ellis m'a raccompagné à mon hotel avec tout un tas de filles, et que j'avais des tatouages indélébiles de la tête au pied le lendemain... Baam baam.. j'ai vu les photos le lendemain, superbe!
Bref, Qualif Pro Flat le lendemain.
Un plateau un peu décevant à cause du spot, quoique internationale quand même avec Viki Gomez, Frank Lucas, Thomas Noyer, Joris Bretagnolle et les infatiguables Panda.
les qualifs étant en pleines après midi, il y'avait un monde FOU! et ça fait plaisir de rouler dans ce genre d'ambiance.
Les 3 premiers amateurs faisaient leurs début en Pro, et ont bien assuré! Matthieu Bonecuelle s'est même qualifié pour la finale du lendemain. Bravo!
Autrement on a eu un run bien propre de Joris avec un style très Chiquété, Viki toujours aussi Tech, Frank Lucas qui a régalé la foule avec un pédalo upsidedown megaspin, Raph à la bien et Alex qui commence à vraiment bien géré le Brakeless. Les fires sans freins comme si il les avaient!!
j'ai pu roulotter avec un bon gros strap donc tout n'était pas perdu!
Le soir, Re-soirée à l'australian. Jérémy de chez Red Bull s'est lâché en bouteille de Jagermeister, donc il y'a eu du Jagerbomb (Red Bull-Jagermeister) dans l'air! Il y'avat aussi du mégaphone, des filles, des rateaux: Anaaaaiiisss etc...
On va se coucher pas suuper tard histoire d'être un minimum frais le lendemaian pour les qualifs, prévu à Midi.
Bon, on arrive sur le spot, il 'avait pas grand monde, forcément, ils ont beau être matinale, ils ont maaal.
On attend pas mal de temps les retardataires, ce qui a permis a pleins de monde de venir sur l'aire de flat.
Les qualifs commence quand Viki arrive. Les gradins sont pleins, le Lionel Cardoso fait chauffer ses cordes vocales, ça va être fou!
les riders ont bien assuré le show, avec quelques belles chutes par-ci par-la quand même.
Joris a fumé le spot, 4 ème place pour lui, Viki qui n'avait pas du tout practise s'en sort pas si mal: fire to cross foot tomahawk; Alex a vraiment bien roulé, il rentre même un brakeless decade innatendu à la fin de son run, quand à moi j'ai rentré quelques trucs marrant et un bunnywhip dont je suis fier, j'ai vraiment missioné à l'apprendre!!
Bref, tous les gens m'ont dis que le flat était chanmé, que ça changeait des autres disciplines du BMX ou ça se met la tête en bas. Donc le minimum syndicale serait de donner une aire de flat praticable l'année prochaine. Déjà, plus de pros feraient le déplacement, et ensuite cela donnerait de l'ampleur à l'event.
D'ailleurs Alex a bien discuté avec les organisateurs, et les rumeurs laissent entendre que ça sera foufou l'année prochaine. sortez les maillots de bains!
Vu comment ils font ça bien pour le street, je vois pas pourquoi ils en feraient pas autant pour le flat!
Bref, un grand merci quand même aux organisateurs et à Fise events qui font du bon boulot pour développer cette discipline qui en a besoin! à l'année prochaine!

I'm right now in the train for like 2 hours, pretty much nothing to do so I was like, Let's write some words about the famous Montpellier contest.
I'll start with Bmx Flatand of course.
It all began thursday morning with the amateur qualification, and also, we discover the "Flatland" area. Old wood, a huge slipery graffiti in the center, and located in the middle of nowhere. Whuut?
Ohh whatever.
A good amount of amators made the trip though, which was pretty cool. They did a really good job.
Let's start with the First place qualifier: Maxime Lucchetti that landed a Spinning hitchiker nohand like it was nothing. Samir Atmani had a nice rolling run, aswell as Matthieu Bonecuelle (decade...) and Maxandre Pillonel (hang 5 jump to Wheelchair).
The rest of the day was practice for pros and amator. I took my bike, tried a bunnywhip and Craaack, my left ankle didn't make it to the pedal, Twisted... Alex J. rode so good the whole afternoon. and the fact that he started riding really hard is definitely worth!
By the evening, I met the Red Bull Staff for a dinner and some party at the Overtown bar. it was awesome! so many friends in there, and so much fun. I have an exam at the Worlds this summer to get in the HDT but it's gonna be tough.. I'll let you know anyway.
There was a huge Riot outside the club a the end of the Party. Some guys with a cool ass mercedes came to fight against at least 150 drunk Bmx riders. God bless him.
Friday was the amator final! So much people came and watch the comp! Thanks for our amators!
Third place for Maxime Lucchetti, who rode as good as the day before! you better watch out this guy!
Second place for Matthieu Bonnecuelle, the flatland Mini-star (he has small height) who tried a "death-truck" His legs are just long enough! and first place for Maxandre Pillonel, who is for me the next big thing for the french flatland. He is donated. definitely: turbine whiplashes and a nice steam roller-full whip to halfpacker.
The whole afternoon was dedicated to the pro practice:
alex killed the spot once again. Raphael Chiquet, between two energy drinks cans, rode with Mark Webb! 360 whip, Truck, and 540 even! Mark must have ridden the pro contest cuz he 'd have done good!
Evening: the Vans party!! with kang in da place to be!! i'm not going to tell you what happened but I remember that Maxime Bonfil is the most funny guy to party with, TJ Ellis brought me back to the hotel with some girls and I woke up with Tattoo all over my body... UHhh
whatever, Pro qualification the following day...
Not too many riders made the trip thanks to the shitty place, Internatinal Though with the Spanish viki Gomez and the german Frank Lucas!
The qualifications were in the middle of the afternoon, so many people went and watch! awesome.
The top 3 in amateurs had wild card to make the pro comp. Matthieu bonneculle rocked the shit and got qualified for the final!
We had also Joris Bretagnolle with a really Chiquet Style, Viki was really technical, Frank who put the crowd on fire with a pedalo uspidedown megaspin, Raphael Chiquet tried his best and Alex J. start to be really good brakeless. Fires hydrant like he had brakes... so hard.
I rode with a strap, and did good so I was happy.
at night, back to the party, once again at the Australian bar. Jeremy from Red Bull bought sooo many Jagermeister bottle, so it was Jagerbomb time! there was a megaphone aswell to scream in everyones ears, girls... everything you need for a god party.
we went to bed not too late to be a bit fresh for the final that was supposed to be at 11:15 am. LOL
not too many riders were there when I arrived sunday morning on the area, so we had to wait everybody to start. The last one was Viki that didn't even have time to practice!
well, the crowd was once again packed, Lionel cardoso was on fire, It was time t start.
Jorid litteraly smoked the spot with some Bike varials switches.
Viki did the Job. Alex pulled a brakeless decade! and I rode good and pulled a Bunnyhop whip. i'm proud of this one cuz it took me so much time to learn it! Fuck this stupid tricks.
Well. everyone was STOKED on flatland. they say it's so different from other disciplines where it's all about upside down head. At least organisator should do their best to put on a decent flaytland area! First of all, so many more pros would make the trip and the evnt would be even bigger. Alex J. talked with the guys and they say it's gonna be big next year! get your swimsuit ready!!!
Well, Let's say a big thanks t the organisator cuz they actually do their best to promote our sport that really need it! I need to see you next year at this contest!
Fise is also upside down head, astronaut tricks and huge infrastructures this year: Bmx (Park-Mini-dirt)

This was a pretty cool day. Amateur final
Maxandre Pillonel won the whole thing and he had an amazing run! This guy is the next big things from France!
Tomorrow is the pro qualifer. Viki Gomez, Frank Lucas, Alex J. Raphael Chiquet and many more (I rode a bit finally today).

mixed news..
Yo sorry for "long time no news" but my internet connection screwed up when I get back from Japan.
Well, many things happened since Japan tho.
I rode a lot of course. I was in Troyes last week end for the Roula 3 with Alex and some locals flatland riders and we did a battle against breakdancer.. LOL we killed them. Check what Alistair Whitton in person has to say about the Flatland on the VANS website!!
We went to the Koxx mother house with the badthing team to sign new contracts for 2 years, so expect some news from the 2009 parts very soon.
Stereo Panda is moving in a bigger office so It's a lot of work but also a lot of fun.
Next stop is going to be this week in Montpellier for the traditionnal FISE contest. I'll try to put some news up while the week end is going.

desolé pour le peu ou pas de news depuis le Japon mais ma connection Internet à rencontré quelques problèmes techniques...
Bref, beaucoup de choses se sont passés depuis le Japon,
Déja j'ai fait du vélo, j'étais à Troyes le week end dernier pour le Roula 3. il y'avait Alex J. et d'autres flatlanders dont Mangoose! ahah. On a fait une battle contre des breakdancers qu'on a fumé. Regardez ce que Alistair Whitton en personne à dit sur le site VANS! sympa.
Apres ça, tout le team a badthing est parti a la maison mere KOXX pour signer des nouveaux contrats sur 2 ans! des news sur les nouveautés bientôt.
Stéréo Panda bouge de bureaux! c'est beaucoup de boulot mais on se fend la geule!
Enfin, last but not least, il y'a le FISE ce week end. Je vais essayer de mettre un peu de news pendant le week end.

Last day of my looong Japan trip!
Pretty simple, I wanted to ride a last session in Japan before going back to France so we went to a spot and rode... hehe
I put my bike apart, put it in the bike bag... That's it! pretty sad!
Tonight is the last party ohhhhh, and tomorrow morning I have my flight at 12:00. Sayonara.

Dernier jour de mon looong vyage au Japon.
Je voulais rouler une derniere fois avant de rentrer en France, donc on a mis les vélos dans la voiture, choisi un des nombreux spots de Tokyo, et puis on a roulé, tout simplement! hehe
Je viens de démonter mon vélo, direction le sac à vélo.
Vol demain à midi pour Charles de Gaulle, Un peu triste tout ça.
Mais bon, derniere fiesta ce soir, Aie!

Japan Trip, Smells like end spirit...
I don't know where the hell I put My camera. So i'm sorry but There are no photos today! :)
It's been two pretty busy day once again. Yesterday Ucchie had a sponsor Kick off early in the morning so I had free time and ent to ride a bit outside. I joined him a few hours later in UENO, Tokyo. This part is field with Motorcycle and used clothing shop. I made some shopping to bring souvenirs to my mate in Paris. We eventually get to Ikebukuro Tsutomo's night spot to ride. ucchie was really tired by being wake up since 6 in the morning so he just slept in the car. I had a pretty fun session, filming the combos I learned in japan. secret video!! After we went to the casino to spend some money, drink some beers and went to sleep.
This morning we went to Shibuya to film with the Camera crew for the abadthing DVD. We got kicked out by the security twice, but finally we both pulled some combos.
Then we went to see a street musical show, it was like the cirque du soleil stuff, but with Urban sport. It was awesome. Huge audience and entertaining show. They want to add flatland soon, so I made a lil show for the producers and That might work out.
Then we ate some sushi's at some awesome restaurant and go back home... Busy as I told you.
Tomorrow is my last full day, So I'll enjoy it!

Ca a été deux jours plutôt remplis encore une fois. Hier, Ucchie avait un meeting avec un de ses sponsors, donc je me suis mis une petite session tout seul en l'attendant. En faite c'est moi qui est allé le rejoindre à UENO, la ville des shops de motos et de frippes (rien à voir). Un pe de shopping pour ramener des cadeaux aux copains, et puis direction le spot de Tsutomo à Ikebukuro. Le Ucchie était bien sec (i s'était réveillé à 6 h le matin), donc il a pioncé dans la voiture. Moi j'ai filmé les tricks que j'ai appris au japon histoire de pas en oublier. hehe. Apres ça, petite session Casino, j'ai vraiment pas de chance à ce genre de choses, et puis dodo.
Ce matin on est allé filmer à Shibuya pour le dvd Abadthing, mais on s'est fait viré deux fois par la sécurité. Après un long pourparler, on a pu filmer quelque truc quand même.
Les combos dans la boite, Ucchie m'a emmené voir un spectacle complétement foufou. C'était dans une bête de théatre, un espèce de show façon cirque du soleil, mais avec des sports urbains. Il y'avait taquet de monde et le show était prenant. Le producteur veut rajouter du BMX dedans donc on lui a montré ce que c'était. Il a eu l'air de kiffé donc retour au Japon pour deux mois en Septembre? héhé.
Après ça, restaurant de Sushi, et puis dodo, enfin seulement après avoir écrit ça.

I get 3 days left in Japan and I try to enjoy'em as much as possible.
Everything went good today. I have been to Aoki park spot for a session. The security guard is now our friend so It's kinda cool. Check the photo ahaha.
And I receive some sample bars today. Ucchie and I 'll test it. Expect more infos and bikecheck soon.

NOTHING BUT LETTERS.
My friend Lotfi Haamadi a.k.a YKO is a Bmx Rider, a video producer (remember My video part on watchbmx.com?) and also a Painter-Graffiti artist. He released an awesome book about The grafitti in his whole form. From the late 80's to Nowadays. Grafitti is a part of the street culture aswell as BMX and this book is a lil taste of all this! I LOVE IT.

Lotfi Haamadi a.k.a YKO fait du Bmx, de la video (souvenez vous de ma part sur watchbmx.com), et fait aussi de la peinture-Graffiti. Il a réalisé un fantastique ouvrage sur le grafitti sous toutes ses formes: Nothing But Letter est un ouvrage sur l’étude des lettres dans ses formes graphiques réalisé par les deux graffiti artists parisiens : Lek et Yko. On y retrouve notamment l’histoire des deux principaux protagonistes de cet ouvrage, Lotfi “Yko” Hammadi et Fred “Lek” Malek, depuis la fin des années 80 à nos jours.Cette histoire retrace leur début, l’évolution de leur technique et de leur regard sur cet art alternatif dont ils sont acteurs. Une partie plus importante est consacrée à cette recherche de “typograffiti”. Plus de 800 lettres sont proposées, tout l’alphabet est revisité, ce répertoire de lettres est offert aux lecteurs désirant avoir une base afin de s'en inspirer ou de les comprendre pour des yeux non avertis. Une troisième partie met en avant les travaux de graffiti artistes parisiens dont notamment Midi, War, Jay, Echo, Gorey, Swen, Zeki, Cesam ou encore Horphé, qui nous confient leur démarche et leur motivation. La derniére partie de l'ouvrage est plus expérimentale et est dediée à l’élaboration de peintures, des essais sur des techniques, des mises en oeuvre des lettrages.
Le grafitti fais part entiere de la street culture ainsi que le bmx. Et c'est un peu tout cette univers que vous retrouvez dans cette ouvrage.

Red Bull Flatland Clinic
La Red Bull flatand Clinic s'est terminé il y'a quelques heures, et Paaf les photos qui arrivent en exclusivité, en attendant celles officiels de l'événement.
Le concept était assez simple. 4 pro riders qui apprennent des nouveaux tricks à des amateurs. Il y'avait 50 places. Tous les riders devaient remplir un papier avec leur niveau, leur stye de tricks, et surtout quels tricks ils voulaient apprendre le jour même. Du coup on a pu effectuer une pré-répartition. Par exemple Ucchie roule surtout sur la roue arrière, il a eu droit a des élèves de la roue arrière. etc..
Bref, arrivé sur place le lieu était énorme, en taille! une usine désaffecté remis au goût du jour par Red Bull pour accueillir les élèves, les profs, le DJ et surtout les sampling girls...
Je me suis retrouvé avec 15 petits Japs qui parlaient plus mal anglais les uns que les autres, mais attendez, Red Bull a bien fait les choses, j'avais un traducteur avec moi toute la journée! Donc aucun problème de compréhension. le top.
Il y'a eu 1 session de 2 h de clinique, un repas, re-session de 2 h de clinique et une jam avec pleins de trucs genre bunny-hop contest ... La journée s'est terminé par une petite after party ou il y'avait un quizz sur le bmx avec des lots à gagner et la retransmission des photos prises pendant la journée sur grand écran.
Personnelement j'ai kiffé le contact avec Les petiots Japonais et ça a été une très bonne journée. Tous mes éléves ont appris un nouveau tricks aujourd'hui! L'événement s'est très bien passé donc affaire à suivre pour l'année prochaine.

I found out I had to teach tricks to 15 kids. None of them where speaking english... uhhh. But heh, you know When it's Red Bull there are no problem, I had a translator all day long with me, so no problem of comprehension. Awesome.

japan trip day ??
It's been a while that I'm in japan now so I don't really know what day we are!
Whatever, it was a nice one. It was raining in Tokyo today so we headed to Ucchie indoor spot this morning to ride and film. It was a pretty good session, I learned some new street move I'm stoked on, and Ucchie pulled some very nice combos.
We try to shoot some combos for the video in a really nice spot outside, but There was thoses crazy people. One was a Transexual who was walking is dog and 2 others were like a 80 years old couple who was doing weiiiird stuff...
Well, After 8 hours riding... It was time to go home. lol
Ohh, and here is my birthday present. The japanese guys offered it to me and This is the best thing ever. It look like a toy kid but that ain't! That shit is dope! héhé Check my facebook there is a video of me playing it.

Ca fait un bon bout de temps que je suis au japon maintenant, et je sais plus trop quel jour on est..
Mais bon, ça en a été un de bon. Il a plu toute la journée donc on a pris la direction du spot couvert de Ucchie ce matin, histoire de rouler et de filmer. J'ai appris deux trois conneries et Ucchie à bien roulé, comme d'hab...
On a essayé de filmer un peu dans un spot exterieur chanmé, couvert par une grande verrière, mais il y'avait des gens surchelou sur le spot. Il y'avait un transexuel qui promenait son chien et qui a fait du rentre-dedans à Ucchie, et il y'avait aussi un couple d'octogenaire qui faisait des trucs trooop suspect avec des ballons gonflable... Oh lala.
Bref, Paye ta session de 8 h, il etait l'heure de rentrer à la Casba.
Ohh, et pendant que j'y suis, ça c'est mon cadeau d'anniversaire et c'est un truc de fou. Comme ça on dirait un jeu débile pour les enfants, mais ce truc c'est le future.

japan Trip, 4days in 1
Un gros poste pour résumer les 4 derniers jours. Ca a été 4 Looooongues journées.
La première a consisté à prendre le Shinkanzen, le TGV local pour faire Tokyo-Osaka. Première nuit, première soirée avec les locaux de Kobé, des gars complétements fou! c'était marrant, sauf que il y'avais une compète le lendemain matin, et je l'ai mastiqué, justement, le matin! ahaha Bref, direction le "special elements" contest.
Les contests au Japon sont fou, il y'avait trop de riders, un truc genre 100-150 pour un contest dit "local".
Il y'avait 26 pro au départ, 12 en final. le format était marrant, Le spot avait la forme d'une grosse horloge numéroté de 1 à 12 (pour les 12 riders), en cercle. jam session, 2 passages chacun. Le résultats qui tombe
1-Moi
2-Ucchie
3-Mo-Richi
La soirée fut tranquilou , sushi et bain publics, japan style t'a vu.
Le lendemain, direction Yokohama (Re TGV) pour faire un démo dans un mall apellé Bay Quarter. bah une démo c'est une démo donc pas grand chose à dire...
Le soir, direction Nagoya (5 h de voiture) ou on doit rejoindre showtalow Pour faire la fête. le gars est le patron de la nuit la bas et c'était bien agréable. Il m'est arrivé encore des aventures bizarres avec des filles, mais bon... pas grave.
le lendemain matin, re-contest. Niveau flat c'était pas foufou, mais par contre, il y'a eu une démo de street à un moment. 10 kids et une Box SURPOURRIE! Lol, le problème c'est qu'ils avaient décidé de se balancer ces cons là. On a eu le droit a une vraie boucherie, dans le sens ou 90 pourcent des tricks qu'ils essayaient se finissait sur le dos. Y'a un ptiot qui 'est chauffé en frontflip (presque replaqué), et puis avec l'émotion, il s'est dit, "j'y returnes en flipwhip" sauf qu'il a tout laché à mi-chemin, dos sur l'arrete de la box, vélo qui tombe dans la foule... Fou je vous dis. Le grand moment ça a été le gars qui a essayé d'apprendre flip pendant la démo. Je pense qu'il a tiré trop tôt, résultats, nuque contre le quarter au départ du flip... ahahaha on arrête les dégats.

The contest took place in Osaka. Japanese comp are Huge. This was supposed to be a local comp, and there were at least 130 riders... LOL
28 pros started (Akira, Akihiko Takashi, Enoyang, Ucchie, Mo-Richi and many more).
There was 12 spots for the final. It was a pretty funny format. The area was designed as a big clock with number written on it from 1 to 12, in circle.
So during the final, there was 12 riders in circle all over the spot, 2 times 1 min for each rider. Awesome.
So many tricks went down. Mo-richi landed a full bike flip to pegs wheelie!! ucchie did good throwing down some new moves.

The evening was chill. Sushi and public Bath, Japanese style ya know!
The following morning, back again in The train to Yokohama to do some shows in a mall. Shows are shows... Nothing special to say about it!
By the vening, Let's go to Nagoya (6 hours drive). We met Shotalow there; who is kinda the Boss of the night... It was so funny. Once again Bizarre story with girls. Oh Whatever!
The following, there was a contest in Nagoya "The Block Party" featuring Flatland, street basket, Skateboard, and Street Bmx shows.
The Street show was actually 10 dudes and a really really ghetto funbox. Apparently the guys wanted to go big, Maybe a bit too much.
There was that guy that landed frontflip, and then told himself "Let's go for a flipwhip"... Oh My godness that was the worst crash I have ever seen in Bmx... Oh whatever... lol
The Flatland contest went down, battle format.
I had to battle against Ucchie for the final battle, and it's never funny to compete against friends.
