Alex Jumelin X Hype Means Nothing

While on our way from San Diego (CA) to Joplin (MO) in the U.S.A. (which was a 30 hours drive), we stopped at a very very redneck service station in the middle of nowhere and started to have a lil session. Vincent Perraud was here (He's always here), and shot this amazing photos of Alex J. rocking HMN T shirt.

Alex Baret Got Stolen!!!!

Here is a really sad message from Andy Zeiss about my friend Alex Baret...

!! Alex Baret // camera stolen !!

"I f... hate thiefs!!!

Once again one of ours got robbed!
My friend and top notch filmer & editor Alex Baret was victim of a theft today.
His gear bag was right in front of his legs in a train cabin, almost touching his knees and then in a blink of an eye some damn fucker grabbed it, ran off, hided on top of the train (YES) and jumped off at the next station.
It seemed to be a professional who was watching Alex for a while before taking his chance. How bad is it when someone steps in your life and then just takes away something that you admire? The feeling someone is having your stuff that you treated so well and probably sells or swops´it for some drugs or whatever makes me sick! It sucks big time and just makes me really, really, really ANGRY!!!

I know the chances are small to see the stuff back but it was a decent amount of budget in that Lowepro bag including a Panasonic P2 HD Camcorder, a fisheye lens, a 15" MacBook Pro, 2 Hard Drives, other cool gadgets and amazing riding footage of three days.

May your hands rot off you asshole!

Heads up Alex!!!"

BUK Jam!!

English Version
The "port aux cerises" skatepark in Draveil (South of Paris) is the spot where I did my first sessions, my first tricks with my first BMX (A good old Haro!). One month ago I saw on the web that a Jam was held there, organised by my friends, I was so psyched! After I checked my planning, I found out nothing was really going on was week end, so YES! I could make it there!
I went yesterday at the spot, OMG its been a while I havent been there! and nothing really changed, well the skatepark is bigger and better, there are new shredder, but my friends from the first day are still here, with the same smile on theur face than 5 years ago!
I look at the street jam for a while and the level is pretty Crazy. Eddy Bapin came so close of pulling a huge flip condor on the jump box, Seb goes huuuuge doing high turndowns and lookback on the massive quarter wall, Mika Grossi does all the tailwhip variation, Olivier Petazzy is in the place with his 24 inches! There are also a lot of kids that shred but I can't rememeber their names!
I eventually go on the flatland area and it's cool to see many guys made it! even from Lyon (Romain and Remy) and all the locals (Charles, Mike, Remi, Carlos and his succesfull comeback :)
A good jam start off with a cheering crowd. Charles does nosewheelies like I do Hang5, Remy does some tech stuff, Carlos some decades! It's amazing!
the end of the day comes with the results and Mika Grossi took the win of the street jam, eventho there are not real winner or loser this day. The big winner is the BMX community, the big family, street and flat, on the same spot for one day! Definitely an awesome day I had!
Thanks to all the organiser, the sponsors and the rider!
"Like in the good ol' days"!

Good to see my friends!!

Com'inLyon Quick Report!

Photo ©Remy Issaly Sevenonethree

It's been a while Com'In Lyon was planned in my mind. I was supposed to go there with Raph and Alex as usual but both of them had stuff to do that week end so I went on a solo trip this time... less funny? naaah Check out why:
My friend Julien Dupont (Red Bull Moto trial Freestyle) picked me up at Lyon train station that satursday morning and dropped me at the contest spot.
The location was pretty simple but pretty good, a sort of school gymnasium close to the city center.
It was warm as hell inside but it was definitely good to see all my riders friends!
I started practicing a bit and found out the floor was soooo dialed! Wooden floor yes, but but they stuck it to the ground with wood glue. I was just feeling like at home! So good.
The contest started and in between classes, there were some breakdance, graffitti, unycicle show so it was pretty funny.
in the Master class, Matthieu Bonnecuelle progressed a lot. He actually can do loooong breakless nose wheelies... crazy. Maxandre (A bad Thing flow) was the best in the qualification evetho he had a tough party the night before.
Let's go straight to the pros. Dez Maarsen made it to Holland, Gilles Von de Sompel from Belgium, and all the typical french pro riders. Pretty tough contest! Everyone rode well but Dez rode the best so he took 1st place in the qualification. It meant I had to do better the next day to take the win back home which is actually not bad for motivation!
At night I went out with the Ride the world crew in the beautifull city of Lyon. We went to see a comic show, then went to a cocktail bar and finally at the contest party which was held on a boat!
All the riders were here so we had a crazy night! I don't really rememember when I went to bed, but I know it was day light ahaha
The following day I woke up tottaly fresh, went for a McDonald and to the contest place.
Kevin Meyer took the win in the expert class with some cool new backwheel move.
In the master class, Charles Paty rode like a pro (long cross footed nose wheelie to gturn whiplash.. WTF?) so he took the win! congratz!
on the pro class it was a battle format "pick the rider you wanna battle with". John Leblond was the first rider to choose and he picked....me! That was so amazing to ride against a friend of mine and we had a lot of fun riding! Dez and I made our way to the final with no touches run basically which promised a wild wild final!
Dez had some trouble finishing his long ass combo in the battle against me and I did pulled some new stuff so I guess that's why I took the win. Dez is progressing like crazy at the moment so that wouldn't surprise me he beat the best pros in Barcelona in July!
Joris Bretagnolle fresh new in the Quamen team beat Gilles von de Sompel in the 3rd place battle! Congrats.
That contest was really really good and promising for the future of the flatland scene in France. Tons of riders made it to Lyon to have fun, the crowd was into it and the organisation was dialed!
A big big up to Flo Guyennon and all the organiser, sponsor, riders. You all made my week end!
Special big up to Julien and the RTW crew for this amazing weekend, to Michel the Pigeon,Kang from Vans X et toute l'équipe, and Pascal Mintov who drove one hour in Lyon to drop me at the train station! Thanks!!!
Peace;
M.
