Japan Trip, Day 13

Busy day today, again.
We had a meeting with Ucchie manager about the upcomming Abadthing japanese distribution, and it looks like it's going to be great!!
We went back home and train a bit on the DJ table. There is a big party comming up in Harajuku-Tokyo tomorrow and we are the main DJ with Ucchie, so we are all setup!
Of course went to ride tonight but we got kicked out from the police... Fuck. I actually try to deal with him in english, but nobody does speak english in japan. He got really because he thought I was making fun of him or something... Sketchy stories.
Whatever, that's about it.

Encore une journée bien remplie aujourd'hui..
On avait un meeting ce matin avec le manager de Ucchie pour mettre en place la toute nouvelle distribution de Abadthing au Japon, et apparement ça à l'air bien parti.
Rentrage à la maison puis practice sur la table de mixage de l'appart. Il y'a une grosse soirée demain soir à Harajuku-Tokyo et on est les principaux DJ avec Ucchie. On s'est un peu entrainé, mais ça va être super chaud! héhé.
Bien sur session ce soir, mais on s'est fat virer par la police. J'ai essayé de m'expliquer avec le type en anglais, mais personne ou presque ne parle anglais au Japon. Il a cru que je me foutais de lui et s'est bien énervé... Boaf, des histoires de merde! haha
C'est un peu près tout pour aujourd'hui.

Japan Trip, Day 11-12

Ucchie ates too much sushis...






















2days in1, It's like the shampoo!
It's been two busy days with a lot of shitty stuff happening, but whatever.
I received a new frame yesterday, 19.5 because I didn't feel confortable on my old 18.8 bikes. So I had to put it together.
When I build A new bike I always start by putting on cranks. Well, I couldn't remove it from the old one because the BB was stuck. heh good start.
I run a sample fork, of course it's made a Taiwan and since it's a sample, they made it too big, and I couldn't remove my fork... aahah
After a whole days hitting my bike with a hummer, I removed my fork and my BB, and build the new one.The problem was, when I put the bearings back together, I wanted to put some grease in... Well There were two tubes in ucchie toolblox, One was Slicon grease, the other one was Glue... LOL Since It was written in japanses, I took the wrong one and put glue in my bearings.... I started building my bike At 12:00 in the morning and finished at 7p:m... Fuck it.
Whatever, Ucchie brought me to a awesome place! best night ever? It was like a recreational places with indoor and outdoor games. A bunch of friends were there, including Kotaro Tanaka, Hiroshi 430, Doko, Utah, Ucchie of course.
We played soccer like crazy and Of course my team won! ahaha. Then some baseball (I do suck at baseball) and a bunch of other sports. It was late when we get out of there and we decided to go out. we landed at a cool restaurant, having a few beers and me trying to learn japanese! lol.
4 a:m, time to go to bed.

Today Ucchie woke me up early, we had a meeting with Yasuyuki "Green G" Takeo, THE japanese photographers to take some photos. Pretty normal. After two spot my bar broke.... FUUUUUUUCK, so back to the bike shop, building my new bar, and we'll go for a night session. Seriously, i'm soooo over mecanic right now! Hope nothing breaks tonight.

C'est le 2jour en1, comme le Shampoing mec!
Ca à été deux jours bien busy, avec pleins de merde qui me sont arrivés, mais bon, c'est ça aussi la vie.
Bon, hier matin, je m'attelle à changer de vélo, mon ancien cadre étant un peu petit pour moi, j'ai demandé à KOXX un 19.5 pour me sentir mieux. Tout allait bien jusque là. Ce qu'il faut savoir, c'est que j'ai commencé à monter mon vélo à Midi, et que j'ai fini à 19 h00... AHHHH putain.
Déja, mon euro Bottom étant resté coincé dans l'ancien cadre, pas de pédalier. Il y'a eu aussi la fourche, qui est un proto, un peu plus grosse que la normal, elle est resté bloqué dans le jeu de direction. J'ai passé la journée à taper dessus comme un sourd... En remontant ma fourche, et en bon Samaritain, je me suis dit, je vais mettre un peu de graisse dans le jeu de direction. Paaf, dans la trousse à Outil de Ucchie, Il y'avait deux tubes, les deux écris en Japonais. y'en à un qui était effectivement la graisse, et l'autre de la colle à rustine. Bien sur j'ai utilisé la colle à rustine. ça va beaucoup moins bien tourner maintenant... Bon, à 19h00, vélo fini.
Ucchie m'a emmené dans un endroit un peu foufou. Un grand espace de jeu, Avec mon petit 10 ans d'age mentale, j'ai surkiffé. y'avait tous les potes (Kotaro, Doko, Hiroshi, le Ucchie...) On a tapé le foot, bien sur mon équipe à gagner, un peu de baseball, je suis nul, et un peu de jeu vidéo! paaf.
On est sorti de la assez tard, direction le restau pour chiller un peu et boire des coups.

Aujourd'hui Ucchie m'a reveillé Bien trop tôt. On avait RDV avec Yasu takeo, LE photographe japonais pour prendre des photos. Après deux spots, mon guidon casse! Craack. Direction le bike shop, nouveau guidon... FUUUUUCK
Ce soir, session de nuit, en espérant que rien ne casse.

Yo, no update last day, no time.
Well, I would say this was the healthy day of the trip.
Woke up early and went to practice at Tsutomo's spot in Ikebukuro. It was soooo windy and the spot was a bit shitty, but We had a good time. New tricks new tricks new tricks!!
We got to ucchie place, eat something and went to the Fitness center to weight some lift! Swimming a bit and then it was time to go home, 11:30 P.m.
It was Koby birthday yesterday and we decided to go to Ropponghi, which is a non sleeping city. We had a hard time finding some packed club, Yeah actually it was monday... lol
At 3 a.m we went to a Karaoké with some random girls, and If I rememeber well, I yelled too much on "Heart shaped Box-Nirvana", I forgot my voice at the place... fuck We went back at Ucchie place at 8 this morning. Kobi was kinda wasted... check the photos...
It's sunny today, so I guess we gonna find some spot and go ride today. let's see.

Mais bon, rattrapage ce matin.
Je dois dire que c'était le jour "Santé" du trip.
Levé tôt et riding au spot de Tsutomo à Ikebukuro. Il y'avait un vent de dingue et le spot est un peu pourrie, mais on a bien rigolé. New tricks new tricks! hehe.
retour chez le Ucchie, un ou deux bol de riz, direction le centre de fitness pour lever un peu de fonte. à 23h30, retour à la maison un peu fatigué, mais c'était l'anniversaire de Koby, le colloc de Ucchie. Du coup direction Roponghi, la ville qui ne dors pas. Ca à été un peu dur au début de trouver un endroit avec du monde dedans, en même temps c'était Lundi. A 3 h du mat, je me suis retrouvé dans un Karaoké avec des meufs trié sur le pavé.
Je crois que j'ai un peu trop crié sur "Heart shaped box" de Nirvana, j'ai oublié ma voix dans l'endroit... fuck.
rentrage chez le Ucchie à 8 h ce matin... Le Kobi était un poil sec... photo? héhé
Il fait beau là, on va essayer de se motiver à aller rouler.

Red Bull Flatland Clinic: 5th May 2009

Basically, Red Bull is organising a big "flatland clinic" in Japan.
The flyer says that I'm gonna spend a whole day from 9:00 A.M to 9:00 P.M in a secret location, with the top japanese riders to learn new tricks. Along with us, there will be also 50 chosen Japanese riders. We gonna teach them how to "take your riding to the next level".
It sounds like the Dragonball'z time ans spirit room, and It's awesome to me!

Red Bull organise un nouvel événement de Bmx Flat au Japon: la "Flatland clinic".
Le flyer dis que 3 des tops flatanders japonais, plus moi et Raph, vont passer toute une journée (de 9h du matin à 9 h du soir), dans un lieu tenu secret, pour apprendre des nouveaux tricks. Avec nous, il y'aura 50 riders japonais. On sera à leur disposition pour leur montrer comment "élever leur riding à un autre niveau".
Ca me fait penser un peu à la salle de l'esprit et du temps de Dragonball'Z, ce qui est plutôt cool nan?

Japan Trip, (looong) Day 10

The most longer day of my life, I have to admitt!
I don't know how much Red Bull I drank today! but definitely not enough yet!
I had to wake up at 4 this morning because we (4 riders: Ucchie, Doko, Tsutomo and I, 1 Dj and 1 speaker guy) had to go to the city of Shizoka for some shows. This F***city is preeeetty far from Tokyo! Dude, that was a looong drive.
We got there and I found out the show was for a big Hip-Hop music reunion. Dude, I'm more Rock and roll than Hip hop, but it was fun tho. We did a battle (Tsutomo-Doko Vs Ucchie and I) and the crowd liked it. Apparently we won with Ucchie, but who cares? hehehe
After this, We went to the public bath (the naked stuff related a few days before) to get relaxed and we needed it.! good stuff!
We eventually went to this crazy place-restaurant that served fish-snake . Of course I tasted it and It tasted good! hehe.
Another looong drive to get to ucchie place. At first we were motivated to go out tonight, but we found out everyone was too tired to party. I'm ridiculously dunzo at the moment so I guess it's time for me to get some rest: riding day Tomorrow.
It's 2:03 a:m right now, i quit.

Le jour le plus long de ma vie... Je dois admettre.
Je sais pas combien de Taureau rouge j'ai bu aujourd'hui, mais apparement pas encore assez! :)
Levé ce matin à 4 H parce que nous ( 4 riders: Ucchie, Doko, Tsutomo et moi, ainsi que un Dj et un speaker) devions nous rendre dans la ville de Shizoka pour faire une démo. Cette P**** de ville est suuuuuper loin de Tokyo, on en a fait de la voiture...
En arrivant la bas, je me suis aperçu que la démo était pour un gros rassemblement Hip-Hop au japon. Je suis plus Rock and Roll, mec, mais c'était drôle. On a fait une battle (Tsutomo-Doko Vs Ucchie-Moi), et le public a bien accroché! Apparement on a gagné la battle avec le Ucchie, mais est-ce bien important? hehe
Après cela, on est tous allé au bain public (le truc à poil dont je parlais quelques jour avant) histoire de récupérer, et c'était bien cool puisque on en avait bien besoin.
La trempette fini, direction un restau un peu foufou qui proposait du poisson-serpent héhéhé, ca sonne tellement glauque. Bon, bien sur j'ai pris ça! et bon choix.
Bref, c'était l'heure de se reeetaper la voiture dans le sens inverse. On était tous motivé pour sortir ce soir au départ de Shizoka, mais en arrivant à Tokyo, vu nos tête, il valait mieux aller se coucher, ce que je vais faire directement après ça d'ailleurs.
Il est 2h03 du matin heure locale, je rend l'antenne, à demain.

Japan Trip, Day 9

After party days are always hard....
Well, I went to bed at 6 this morning so i was kinda done today. However we had to go to Ucchie's indoor spot to film some combos for the Abadthing japan dvd. It was raining the whole day so the indoor place was fine!
It was hard to warm up but we pulled some combos for the camera. A few japanses riders joined us (Doko-Ares bike) and Yuki Sakaï the japanese next big thing on backwheel.
I had a really big crash so I guess I'm off for a lil while... We have a show tomorrow tho... lol Let's see.
We went back to Ucchie place. Today is a special day in Japan (sorta food tradition called Okonomiaki) so ucchie's wife cooked some awesome stuff. I have no idea what was between my chopsticks but It was good!
That's pretty much it for the 9th one...Let's sleep tonight... Good night!

Les lendemain de soirée sont toujours un peu difficile...
Bah ouai, je suis allé me coucher à 6 heures ce matin donc forcément j'étais un peu sec aujourd'hui. Cependant, on avait RDV avec une équipe TV cet aprem pour filmer des tricks pour le DVD A bad thing Japan. Il a plu toute la journée donc on a squatter dans le parking soutterain.
ça a été bien dur de se chauffer mais on a tous les deux rentrés quelques bons trucs pour la caméra. Quelques riders se sont joins à la session dont Doko (Ares Bike) et Yukii Sakaï la nouvelle star japonaise sur la roue arrière... la relève!!
Je me suis fumé en fin de session donc je pense que je vais y'aller doucement les prochains jours... je dis ça je dis rien, on a une démo demain... hehe
Après la session, retour à la maison du Ucchie. Aujourd'hui est un jour spécial au japon, une sorte de tradition culinaire apellé Okonomiaki (A vos souhaits). La femme de Ucchie s'est encore surpassé. je sais pas ce qu'il y'avait entre mes baguettes, mais c'était super bon!
Voila pour la neuvième journée...Ce soir c'est repos on va dormir, alors bonne nuit!!

Japan Trip, Day 8

I spent the day out and didn't come back at night before going in some parties so no update yesterday. But here is what hapenned.
We have been riding so much the past few days that it was time to take a day off. We went to Harajuku to do some shopping and sightseeing. Tokyo is an awesome city... sooo many people in streets, we fucked around the whole afternoon and it was fun. By 6 p:m I went to the Red Bull mother house in Japan to meet up with Toru (the athlete manager) and Tim (the event manager). Thoses guys rock! Tim is kinda hyperactiv which is really funny and Toru can get you a girl in 5 min! They showed me the whole office, which is actually a big building, and It is awesome. Infortunately the sampling girls where not here. Maybe later this week :). They eventually took me to a japanese barbecue restaurant to eat some delicious specialities and have a few beer before going to a party. I don't really rememeber the whole night, I know we moved in 3 club, I had to hide from the bouncer because the age to get in clubs is 20 in Japan... hehe but I made it 3 times in 3 different clubs, so It was OK.I'm pretty dead this morning, but that's how it is. Let's go practice today!

J'ai passé la journée d'hier dehors sans revenir à la maison avant d'aller en soirée, donc pas d'update hier. Mais je rattrape ça ce matin.
On a un peu trop rouler ces derniers jours donc il était temps de prendre un jour off.
Ucchie m'a emmené dans le centre ville pour faire du shopping et pour visiter Tokyo. C'est un endroit formidable, y'a trop de trucs à voir, pleins de Japonais(e) dans la rue, Bref, On a fait les cons tous l'après midi.
A 6 h je devais me rendre a la maison mère Red Bull au japon pour rencontrer Toru (l'athlete manager) et Tim (l'event manager). Les deux gars sont sur cool. On a visiter les locaux, ou plutôt l'imeuble... C'est vraiment gigantesque, et il y'avais pleins de trucs déirant dedans! hehe le Tim est complètement barré, un peu hyperactif, donc c'est super marrant de traîner avec lui. Toru, lui, peut te brancher avec une fille en moins de 5 min, et ça c'est beau. Bref, on est allé mangé dans un restau de barbecue japonais. Encore de la bonne bouffe! et deux trois binches plus tard nous voila parti pour une longue nuit! Je me souviens pas de tout mais je sais qu'on a changé plusieurs fois d'endroit, que j'ai du feinter l'entrée à chaque fois (l'age limite d'entrée: 20 ans hehe). mais c'était pas si difficile que ça. Je suis bien sec ce matin, mais c'est la vie, on va faire du vélo aujourd'hui...

Japan Trip, Day 7

Sunny day, summer times and French food in Japan....
Ucchie woke me up early this morning. We went to the Casino. They call this "Pachinko". One of Ucchie's best friend "Kenji" is a professional gamer (he make a good living out of money games lol). He showed us some tricks and we went to a japanse food market to have a breakfast? Pastas by morning time are the best! We also passed in front of a french bakery; so It was good to taste some home specialities after a week!
We eventually took Ucchie's van for a session@Aoki park.
This spot is always filled with riders and skaters so It was a fun session. It was sooo warm and sunny... Holidays!! pulled some shit aswell as Ucchie and broke my headset bearing... Time to go at the bike shop once again.
One of the mecahanic guy was a pro street rider and fixed my bike like a professional! Thanks dude if you read this. I was ready for another session!
I'm pretty dead right now and Ucchie 's laying on the floor sleeping in front of me. LOL. I think i'm ready for the graveyard at the end of that trip. But that's how it is! Go hard or Go home!

Soleil, Summer times et Bouffe française
Ucchie m'a réveillé tot ce matin pour aller au Casino (les machines à sous, pas le supermarché), Bref, un des meilleurs potes d'Ucchie "Kenji" est joueur professionel, je sais pas comment on apelle ça, en tout cas il vit des machines à sous. Il nous a montré comment detecté les bonnes machines et tout le bordel, mais j'ai rien gagné... Boah faut pas que j'arrête le vélo :) Après ça, petit déj dans un restaurant jap'. Les pâtes dès le matin, c'est un peu le top! On est passé devant une boulangerie Française (quoique il parlait pas français dedans), mais les pains au chocolats sont super bien passés quand même.
Après cela on a pris le van d'Ucchie pour aller rouler à Aoki park. Il faisait suuuuper beau, y'avait pleins de riders, des skaters et tout pour faire une bonne session! On a bien roulé avec le Ucchie mais j'ai cassé mon jeu de direction.. Direction le bike shop. J'ai même pas eu à toucher mon vélo. Un des mécaniciens était un pro rider street au Japon et m'a tous changé en 5 min... le top. Du coup re-session.
Je suis mort à l'heure qu'il est. Ucchie est juste devant moi, il dors sur le parquet du salon... je crois qu'on va être bon pour le cimetière à la fin du trip, mais bon, c'est comme ça que c'est bon!
