WALDEMAR FATKIN!

Waldemar has been my friend for a while now! I went to Koblenz, He came to Paris and it's always a lot of fun to ride and hang out with him! Unfortunately I didn't get to see him a lot last year, neither do you. He has been off the radar for a little while but no worries, the man is back! Hey Walde! But where da fuck have you been? Here are 5 questions I asked him to figure it out!

1-Just a little basic Intro: Name, Age, Riding years, sponsors, anything you wanna say about you!

W: Hello my name is Waldemar aka Wowa Fatkin, I am 22 years old. I ride BMX since 2003 and my sponsors are Deepbmx, Sportimport (Odyssey), Power Balance, Kunstform and Chico.

2-Man, Where have you been? I didn't get to see you since the Riviera Ninja Spin last year! What has been your program?


W: Hehe its not true we see eachother at BMX Masters and at Flow Combo in Koblenz! You forgot it?;)
But its true I was seldom at contests last year because I am busy at school. In 2 weeks I have my last exams and after I have more time for riding, contests etc.

3-Do you have some "come-back plans", by that I mean visiting some major contest this summer?
W: Yeah I will visit some contests this year together with DEEP crew. We will go to Nokia Fise, Hungary, Lyon and I think more. I hope I can fly to Japan this year because It's always been my dream to ride there and to see underground riders from japan.

4-What's your riding style right now? more street, more flat?

W: hmm I ride BMX. I prefer flat- street mix style

The most important thing in life to my eyes: Party!



5-Tell me the last trick you pulled, the next tricks you wanna pull and the tricks you have in mind forever but you know it's barely possible?


W: Last tricks I pulled are secret!!;) You have to wait for my new video. At the moment I try some new switches from frontwheel to bachwheel and back bla bla. I hate long tricknames. Trick in my mind is halfcab 1,5 whooper to mccircle, I think its possible.

New Frame update

I'm riding really, really hardcore at the moment, first of all because it's sunny outside and I had to get used to my new frame.
Here is what I feel having a longer Frame: The first two days (The first day I rode it was at the Game of Skills in Vienna :) was a real pain in the ass, because the slim fit prototype I had was 1.5 inches smaller that this one! I felt like riding someone's else bike...
After a couple of days, when you get used to it, It's A.W.E.S.O.M.E!
-Trick-wise Everything is just more stable (Nose wheelies, wiplash...), I progressed so much on that kinda tricks!
-Body-wise, I have some fucked up back problem and now I'm no longer a tall guy on a small bike, It's just my size, and it feels way better.
-Style-wise, It's just looks more beautifull, having a big bike floating around!
-Street-wise, It works riding street!

Well I'm not telling you to get a 20.5tt bike tomorrow if you're not tall enough, but you should definitely try 19-19.5 tt, and let me know what you think about that! I mean, I'm not the creator of riding Flatland with a long bike, Trevor Meyer does that for 50 years :) , I'm just telling : He was right!!
Last but not least, Big up to the fellows at Koxx/Abadthing who let me design what I wanted!!

The weather has been really great lately in Paris and I rode a lot!
I had a cool session yesterday with Mika and filmed some stuff!

Sad sad news for BMX , Two in a row actually: No BMX Worlds in Prague due to the economic crisis, but usually, when there is no Worlds, all the BMX community go to Cologne to celebrate our great sport and to have a good time... but.... No Flatland at the BMX masters this year "because it's too difficult to build a fucking decent 10m by 10m flat floor" (must be way easier to build a super-ramp nah?)...and... No Vert either "because It's too oldschool" (very nice for the Vert rider, since they literally saved the whole event last year).
No seriously I'm being mean, I know it's very hard to find sponsors that pay and organise an event that big, but come on... at least be honest!

It sucks cause 2010 started really well for flatland contest (Jomopro, World Classic, Game of Skills...).
Well, Now I encourage you to show your love to the events that keep real BMX alive and go to Fise, Barcelona Extreme, Bike days...

Well, that's it, Hope the BMX Masters crew can make more money this year, Yeap, they just saved 1500 euros of plywood! Whohoo! It will pay the beer for the V.I.P at the afterparty I believe! :)

Ah ah ah! The Panda takeover is not over yet! Alex Jumelin is back!

He won the Game of Skills yesterday in Vienna, against Sebastian Pospischil (2nd) and me (3rd). Congrats daddy :) I'm so happy for Alex, he's been riding so hard to get used to the brakeless riding the past year and now he's ready to rock the casba! Fuck YEAH!!!!

La Com'In Lyon 2010 se tiendra les 12 et 13 juin 2010, tout juste une semaine après les mondiaux 2010 de BMX les 5 & 6 juin à Prague (République Tchèque).

Comme nous vous l'avions annoncé, nous comptons bien profiter de la proximité temporelle et spatiale de ces deux évènements et nous organisons donc du 7 au 14 juin 2010 la Flat Week !

Durant toute cette semaine, les riders lyonnais vous ouvrent les portes de leur ville et vous accueillent chez eux. Pas de frais d'hébergement, et très peu de frais annexes !

Au programme : découverte de Lyon le matin, riding endiablé sur les meilleurs spots de la ville l'après-midi, soirées hip hop / électro / drum n bass le soir, pendant les 5 jours précédant le contest de la Com'In Lyon 2010 !

L'ensemble du projet étant suivi par une équipe vidéo, le projet Flat Week sera immortalisé par un DVD comportant, en plus du compte-rendu de cette semaine de riding "touristique", les contests de Prague et de Lyon. Notre objectif est de rassembler un maximum de riders, de tous niveaux, tous styles et toutes nationalités possibles, afin que le DVD soit le reflet le plus fidèle de la diversité du BMX Flatland actuel.

N'hésitez plus ! Venez découvrir l'une des plus grandes scènes BMX Flatland de France dans une ambiance conviviale, en compagnie de quelques uns des plus grands riders internationaux qui ont déjà répondu présent !

The Com'In Lyon 2010 contest will be held on 12th and 13th June 2010 in Lyon (France). One week before that, the 5th & 6th June, Pragues (Czech Republic) will host 2010 BMX Worlds.

As we previously announced, we intend to take advantage of the proximity of these two events in time and space. This will be achieved through our latest project : the Flat Week, from June 7th to 14th !

Throughout this week, Lyon riders will open their city to you and welcome you home : you will be housed for FREE, with almost no side expenses !

The schedule will be pretty simple : discovery of Lyon in the morning, furious riding on the best spots of the city in the afternoon, Hip hop / electro / drum’n bass parties in the evening. All of this repeated through the 5 days preceding 2010 Com'In Lyon contest !

A video team will also be following you during this week : the Flat Week project will be immortalized on a DVD containing, in addition to these 5 days of ‘tourist’ riding, the Prague and Lyon contests. Our goal is to welcome a maximum of riders of all levels, all styles and all nationalities, so that the Flat Week DVD stays true to today’s BMX Flatland diversity.

Don’t hesitate ! Just come and discover one of the greatest BMX Flatland scenes in France, in a friendly atmosphere, along with some of the best international riders who have already planned to participate!

I won Jomopro!!

This contest was craaaaazy! Definitely one of the best I went in my life! The vibes were Electric! The fourdry was packed with people screaming at riders, The floor was perfect which made the riding level really high.
Catfish did an awesome job MCing the event! Thanks buddy!
I'm known to not shut my mouth, so I'll let you know, one of the judges decision were terrible, Ucchie definitely should have win his battle against Trevor, but well...
I had to battle against Trevor Meyer during the final and it was crazy since he's a legend!! I tried a new trick for my last run: Halfcab Whip to pegs wheelie and pulled it in 3 tries! I can't wait to watch videos of it! ahah
My daddy Alex Jumelin killed it too! he placed top 8 and was stoked.
This was definitely a great day for the future of flatland, some people know what I'm talking about ;)

Jomopro Update!!!

Today It's been a crazy freaking good day for Flatland.
The Expert and Master final went down along with the pro qualification.
I did the MC for the Expert and Master which was pretty awesome! I really enjoyed doing that and will be down to do it again in the future! ahah
Pro qualification was bananas. Very high level of riding from everybody, the crowd was really into it and Hector Garcia from the Bike project was a perfect MC.
I'm so stoked that Alex and me are in the final tomorrow.

SP trip news!!!

We left San Diego two days ago for a 30 hours road trip to Joplin! It was reaaaaally hardcore but we made it!
We are right now in Joplin where the Jomopro contest will take place this week end. The floor is awesome and the best rider in the world are here! This is going to be a very good time! I'll keep you posted!

Stereo Panda trip update!

We have been killing L.A. the last 3 days! We have been shopping like crazy, went to some crazy party, sightseing, visiting the Pull-In office and went to Venice beach to ride with the local (including Jesse Puente). It was such a crazy time riding there! The vibes are crazy with all the people playing basketball, working out and the bikini girls!! well, it was awesome! I shot some great photos for Red Bull with Vincent Perraud which you'll can check soon on Red Bull Photofiles.
We also shoot the look-book for Stereo Panda and It's gonna be the shit!!
This morning we went to the frontier between U.S and Mexico. We actually pass through the frontier and went to visit Tijuana for a while. There is such a crazy difference in 5 meters between thoses two countries!
We eventually went to the mission beach in San Diego to chill and enjoy the sunset.
Alex and I went to a mission in Downton San Diego to find a ridable spot. We cruised around for 10 min and eventually find a crazy one! We had a nice session and are ready for Jomopro! ahah
Tomorrow and the day after tommorrow is basically gonna be a 27 hour drive from San Diego to Joplin, Missouri to go at the Jomorpo. Wish us good luck.
All the team will be here by friday night, satursday morning.
For now I need to get some sleep!
